Office sofas and poufs. Furniture for public spaces

Office sofas and poufs. Furniture for public spaces
The Smart Balls project was born in 2007, when we built the interior of a rest room and informal negotiations in the office of one company. And we, of course, wanted to put frameless chairs there. But all that we found was simply terrifying quality (even including the famous and very expensive Sacco from Zanotta). We simply could not put our workers on “this.” We realized that the space was free, we came to our friends in the design bureau Ostengruppe, began to discuss what can be thought out and how to develop – and everything started to turn around …

Modern offices are becoming friendlier and softer. And a rather serious role in this is assigned to upholstered office furniture. These can be separate lounges or soft corners, or puffs just scattered throughout the office (in reality, as practice shows, no matter how the architects plan, anyway, bag chairs will be taken away, stored under desktops, put on the aisle, but not in the meeting room 🙂

But still, the office (usually 🙂 calls for a more solid behavior, so in this case, more often order puffs with a higher fit – this is primarily Chushki and Hemp. You can also pay attention to the office version of the sofa Bricks (it can be made quite narrow and with increased seat height) and to the high version of the layout of the sofa Solera.

Fabrics for office sofas and poufs
It is assumed that this furniture will be used more often than home furniture, for upholstering upholstered office furniture (and, in general, furniture for public spaces) impose more stringent requirements. This applies primarily to durability, which is usually measured using the Martindale test (the cloth is rubbed with wool fabric on a special machine until the first two strands of the sample break – the number of such cycles is an indicator).

If the fabric durability is equal to 12,000 cycles, it can already be used at home, but still it is better to choose a fabric with a value of 20,000 and above. Fabrics with an index of at least 40,000 cycles are recommended for office use. And in our collection there are materials with a value of 400,000 cycles (the fabric of one of the leaders in this segment, the American company Maharam).

The bottom and small sides at the bottom can be made of waterproof, washable and at the same time extremely durable Cordura fabric, which at the same time will save and not worry about what to do with bags when wet cleaning.
